Compare a measurement against a limit (PASS/FAIL)

When you're measuring in the field, the mobile app can check each reading against a limit and show a big PASS or FAIL — so you know on the spot whether equipment is within spec.
Turn on comparison
- Connect your instrument and open the Measurement screen.
- Turn on the Comparison toggle.
- Tap the settings icon to open Compare and choose a Mode:
- Greater than — passes when the reading is above your value.
- Less than — passes when the reading is below your value.
- Between — passes when the reading is within a Min. and Max.
- Outside range — passes when the reading is outside the Min./Max. band.
- Enter the value (or the Min. and Max.).
The screen then shows a PASS or FAIL badge from the live reading, based on the primary value.
Capture with comparison
Capture the reading while comparison is on and the setting is saved with the measurement. On the measurement you'll see the same PASS/FAIL result, and in a continuous recording each row shows PASS, FAIL, or --.
Notes
- Comparison uses exact limits — there is no tolerance band.
- PASS/FAIL is shown in the mobile app. On the web dashboard, measurements show the raw measured values without a PASS/FAIL badge (see Review measurements and readings).
For the full capture flow, see Record a measurement.
